Which finger is the ring finger?

In the US, an engagement ring goes on the fourth finger of the left hand. If you borrow a ring, make sure it is one they wear on that finger: fingers on the same hand differ by a size or more.

What if the size falls between two sizes?

Choose the larger one. A ring that is a little loose can be worn while you sort it out; one that is too tight cannot.
