Help find a ring size for a surprise

Someone is planning a surprise for a person you know. Here is how to get the size without giving it away.

Measure, then convert

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of their ring finger, mark where it meets, then lay it flat on a ruler.

Screens and paper can be off by a little. Before you order, tell the jeweler how you measured and ask about resizing.

Ways to get it without asking

  1. Try on rings togetherAt a store or a market, "just for fun." Note the size that fits the left ring finger.
  2. Borrow a ringMeasure across the inside of a ring they wear on that finger, then choose "Across a ring" above.
  3. Ask their familyA parent or sibling may know it from a past ring.
